This article is part of the master's dissertation on "The Role of Music in Childhood Education," which examines the presence and pattern of use of music in educational practices of early childhood education, comparing the reality with its possibilities of use, advocated by scholars of the subject. Through discussions and questions about the educational actions developed in this context is to address the various possibilities of music for the construction of knowledge, based on the theoretical points as necessary for the child and the teaching-learning process. In school education, formal, the music is embedded in laws and official documents, including: the Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education - LDBEN (Law No. 9394, 1996) and the list National Curriculum for Children's Education (1998), these documents providing guidelines for the care and development of children, therefore, fundamental in the analysis of educational practices geared towards the construction of musical knowledge.Downloads
