“Arts of doing” from childhood: between home and school

Abstract

The article presents memorialistic narratives about childhood experiences, on the pathways between home and the educational institutions of the urban downtown of Florianopolis (SC), in the first half of the 20th century: the School Groups Lauro Müller, Dias Velho, Silveira de Souza and Arquidiocesano of São José. The memories of the “arts of doing” from childhood, captured through fifteen interviews, recorded in audio and image, are understood from Michel de Certeau’s perspective, especially regarding the concepts of “practiced spaces” and of “tactics”. Among the conclusions, it is evident that the memories flash from an intense process of interaction between interviewer and interviewee and that the erstwhile childhood, in the memories, it is a special agent that makes use of the tactics of its own margin to the social order of each epoch and historical context.
