Four histories and an epiphany: indisciplinar studies on Japanese budô

Abstract

This study analyzes the concepts of the Japanese budô. Four modalities were emphasized to explore the theme: sumo, kendo, judo and aikido. After introducing the general concept of budô, and the four modalities, it is discussed in a critical way this unexplored area of knowledge in Brazil.
