This article deals with the terminology used in the version to English of elements in baiana cooking in the novel by Jorge Amado – Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands. This study tries to look into the ways in which the names of ingredients and the cooking directions contained in the recipes are carried to the target language, so as to detect possible alterations that may distort the historical-anthropological-cultural constitution of our people, so easily perceivable through our cooking.Downloads
