BUILDING INSTRUMENTS FOR MONITORING STUDENTS’ LEARNING AS A PATH TO DEVELOP SCHOOL MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE

This article presents the analysis and results of an experience of a project designed for the professional development of school principals and Education Department team which was focused on the evaluation and follow up of students' learning from 15 municipal sys-tems in the state of Pernambuco. The project was developed in partnership with third sec-tor institutions and its main goal was to build learning instruments capable of qualifying interventions that could contribute with the learning progress. The methodology included moments of reflection and studies, analysis of educational indicators, as well as the obser-vation of instruments and routines in schools and educational systems, strengthening the collaboration among the Education Department team, school principals and pedagogical coordinators and teachers. As part of the progress achieved, it is worth mentioning the rethinking and reorganization of the follow-up routine with a focus on the learning process of each and every one of the students.Downloads
