AMAUTA REVISITED: JOSÉ CARLOS MARIÁTEGUI'S INDO-AMERICA (1895-1930)

Abstract

In a period of growth and aggravation of the aboriginal people claim, in Latin America, which culminated in the election of Evo Morales to the presidency of Bolivia, the thought of the Pperuvian intellectual José Carlos Mariátegui (1895-1930) became important to understand the historical and political processes, as well as the contradictions that involve the development of the Latin American societies. Tthe objective, in this article, is to analyze the Mariátegui’s thought related to the natives’ history role, in general, and to the Iinca people, in particular, in Latin American political context.
