Given the gap in stakeholder management literature on the sports scene in the Brazilian context, the aim of this study was to examine how managers identify, ranks and prioritize stakeholders of a sport event. For this purpose was conducted a case study with the event “Volta da USP” in his 52nd edition. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with three managers from different levels of the project and with five stakeholders. The content analysis was conducted to verify the attributes power, legitimacy and urgency granted to stakeholders, classifying them into 7 types of stakeholder. It was possible to verify that there is a difference in identifying the stakeholders depending on the organizational level that the manager belongs to. The most common attribute among the stakeholders was to legitimacy. As for the types found, we identified stakeholders with permanently dependent, dominant, discretionary and inactive. Prioritization of stakeholders by managers occurs to yield a higher level of importance to those who have two or more attributes over those that have only one attribute.
