The calculation and the median use

Abstract

The calculation and the median use appear as doubt in exercises and evaluations carried out by the students in several courses where the statistic is taught. A comparison between the median calculation results is presented by means of two methods (A and B), for statistical series that presents their data grouped in class intervals. It’s also presented a short analysis of its use comparatively with the average. It has been used eight hypothetic situations to determine the median and the main results were presented.
