Focus and Scope
EccoS is the scientific-academic dissemination publication of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Universidade Nove de Julho (PPGE-UNINOVE).
Published since 1999, the journal has been disseminating original texts produced in the field of social sciences and humanities, with a focus on education.
Since its first issue, it has sought to publish significant scientific and academic texts (essays or results of empirical research) on education-related topics, aiming to maintain collaboration with a wide variety of authors from diverse educational and research institutions, both national and international.
Initially, EccoS was published semiannually, with only two issues per year. Starting in 2012, it became quadrimestral, with three annual issues, and in 2019, it achieved quarterly publication with four annual editions. Finally, from July 2020, it transitioned into a continuous flow publication, in line with the recommendations of the most recognized indexers in the field. In 2014, it began to be primarily published online, though printed copies are available on special occasions.
To keep up with reflections on the most significant issues of current contexts and advancements in pedagogical science, EccoS commissions reference texts from renowned authors in the aforementioned fields to be published in the form of dossiers, in addition to articles and reviews gathered from spontaneous submissions. Starting in 2020, it began publishing abstracts of doctoral theses and postdoctoral research work defended in the Program.
EccoS aims to contribute to the dissemination of academic and scientific work in the field of education sciences, providing free and immediate access to all of its content through the portal www.revistaeccos.org.br, under the principle of broad and unrestricted knowledge sharing.
Throughout its history, EccoS has sought to ensure institutional diversity among its authors and the presence of researchers from different institutions across Brazil and from renowned foreign higher education institutions, avoiding endogeneity.
More recently, it was decided that, in addition to the official language of EccoS, Portuguese, texts could be submitted and published in other languages: German, Spanish, French, English, and Italian. Article and review submissions are exclusively made through the journal's portal.
