Abstract

This article is a study under development which seeks to explore the subject of dropping out, since it is a troubling situation at every educational level and in different educational systems. Therefore, the main objective of this text is to enumerate the reasons that lead to dropouts in technical vocational education. Carrying out this study required the use of a qualitative literature review, which led to the construction of a theoretical framework comprised of a set of definitions, principles and categories, etc. It was noted that there are avariety of reasons for dropping out, such as socioeconomic, cultural and geographic conditions, pedagogical-didactic programs and, often, poor teaching quality.
