Analysis of the use of dialectical mediation methodology and active methodologies during the COVID-19 pandemic

The covid 19 pandemic has brought radical changes in the social dynamics like the access restriction to educational institution. The activities became remote giving rise to opportunities to expand new forms of work bearing characteristics of the Dialectical Mediation Methodology (MMD) as well as the Active Teaching-Learning Methodologies (MAEs). In the search for a better understanding of the impact in this scenario during the first half of 2021, a quantitative-qualitative study was carried out to verify how the form of organization and the development of a syllabus which influenced the teacher’s work and the student’s learning. The results showed that the teacher tried to adapt their activities to the new reality, presenting many characteristics of MAEs and the phases of MMD in their planning and practice. The students were surprising when it comes to developing different activities and the practicing projects away from the laboratories.
