Abstract

In this article, it is considered the importance of cinema as a documental source in educational research, taking as basis of analysis the film entitled Suburban Angels by Carlos Reichenbach. It is believed that iconography in classroom may consist in another important tool that would make possible to understand questions that compose the dialectic relationship among History, Cinema and social reality. This article defends an articulation between reality and the necessity of inclusion of aspects related to cultural and democratic dimension of those who are involved in the educative act. It is also emphasized the care in treating the film as a documental source in research, and its aim breaks with mechanical conception of the superficial way of analyzing these aspects of cinema.
