The object of this work is to study proposals of playing and staging based on a theme, conducted in a given childhood school, in relation to a theme of children’s experience. The results of this preliminary research were analyzed mainly based on texts by Bredikyte and Hakkarainen, searching to relate the practice, as found in the field study, with concepts discussed by those authors. The research seeks to offer a contribution to better understand the effect of playing and staging, based on a theme, on children's learning. Due to the pandemic (COVID-19), data were collected from reports by a teacher and a coordinator at a Jewish school. It was possible to perceive the children’s greater commitment to the theme learned due to the ludic way it was treated.
