The benefits of Tai Chi Pai Lin for the public health services users

OBJECTIVES: The objective in this study was to evaluate the meaning, the perception and the sense of this practice to its users. For that, a qualitative research with semi-structured interview was designed. METHOD: We carried out 10 individual interviews with users who are representative of the Tai Chi Pai Lin practice group. The interviews were taped, transcribed and analyzed according to the thematic. RESULTS: The users related that the Tai Chi practice contributed to relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety and to reduce pain and tension. CONCLUSIONS: Considering that, we concluded that this practice can improve physical and mental balance, promoting health and well-being.Downloads
