Suicide and parapraxis: psychoanalytic considerations on accidental suicides

OBJECTIVES: The aim is to, through this work was to study suicide and its relation to incidental acts, based on a psychoanalytical approach, as the chief source of discussion, the essay On the psychopathology of everyday life, written by Freud in 1901. METHOD: It begins with a literature about the act of suicide associated with cases of accidents or unforeseen events. RESULTS: This study addressed mainly the slips in the actions as phenomena related to the idea of self-punishment, self-censorship and / or impulsive autoinfligimentos caused by unconscious feelings of reprimand. CONCLUSIONS: From the discussion of some cases reported by Freud himself, raised the hypothesis that some forms of suicide can happen unintentionally (unconscious) as a result of a slip.Downloads
