Contribution of comparative law to Brazilian sources of law

Abstract

In this work, it is focused the traditional influence of foreign law in our legal system, through incidental examples, mainly in the fi eld of statutory and judicial sources of law. Recently, it is also observed the increasing application of the comparative law as a resource, understood in its scientific nature, not only by providing substantial data as results of comparisons among law systems, in its stricto and lato senses, but also indicating main features of the foreign legal systems that must be taken into account by legal transplants promoters.
