Process Management: A BPMN Notation Application Study at an Oil & Gas Industry Services Company

This present study work aims to map and model a critical process of a specific organization from Brazilian oil and gas sector in its current state using the BPMN technique and to evaluate possible improvement scenarios using management and quality tools. Then, the future state of the same process is modeled with the improvements suggested. The methodology of action research and its tools such as observation and interviews have been considered appropriate for the purpose of this article. This study shows its relevance when applying process management tools in an organization that until then, did not have its internal processes mapped, and suggests future works to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the improvements suggested.
