This paper aims to measure the production of recent scientific articles related to the theme of Project Governance. In order to accomplish this goal, the bibliometric study is directed to papers published in academic journals obtained from national and international databases and related to the subject. The study is characterized as descriptive research, using bibliographical research and considering both qualitative and quantitative approaches. After electronically filtering the available papers, with the help of the EndNote® software, a sample of 44 papers was analyzed and classified as national or international, number of publications, number of citations in academic papers, methodological approach, among other relevant information. Results provide an overview on the scientific production on this topic, and indicate that there are few studies on about it at the national level when compared to a significant predominance of international articles that approach the subject. In this context, the International Journal of Project Management periodical stands out in relation to the others studied. These findings point to the need to increase the Brazilian academic production focused on the field of Project Governance and indicate the international periodicals which tend to address this topic.
