This article reflects on the social and environmental management and its relation to the issue of government management, social demands and market requirements. The study carries out a critical analysis of the topic and its relationship from the perspective of a theoretical essay. Although governments and companies have been buying the idea that the environment is a variable that may be considered for the development of strategies and public and private policies, these actors have not much knowledge yet on how to proceed in this matter. Despite the Brazilian government's efforts to promote environmental management , the literature shows that in depth studies are necessary on the issues surrounding the management on social and environmental perspective, as government , social and corporate interests overall are increasingly focused on the environment as a strategic resource.Downloads
